Quickie: Sean William Scott and Paul Rudd star in Role Models as Wheeler and Danny, two salesmen who trash a company truck on an energy drink-fueled bender. Upon their arrest, the court gives them a choice: do hard time or spend 150 service hours with a mentorship program. After one day with the kids, however, jail doesn’t look half bad.
Full Summary:
As mentors, the two salesmen are surrounded by annoying do-gooders. Danny struggles with his every neurotic impulse to guide Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) through the trials of becoming a man. Unfortunately, the guy just dumped by his girlfriend (Elizabeth Banks) has only sarcasm to offer a bashful 16-year-old obsessed with medieval role play.
Meanwhile, charming Wheeler tries to trade in an addiction to partying and women to assist a fifth-grader named Ronnie (Bobb’e J. Thompson) redirect his foul-mouthed ways. It would probably help if Ronnie’s new mentor wasn’t an overgrown adolescent whose idea of quality time includes keggers in Venice Beach.
Once the center’s ex-con director (Jane Lynch) gives them an ultimatum, Danny and Wheeler are forced to tailor their brand of immature wisdom to their charges. And if they can just make it through probation without getting thrown in jail, the world’s worst role models will prove that, sometimes, it takes a village idiot to raise a child.
Our 2 Cents:
Sean William Scott and Paul Rudd? This sounds like a trouble-making duo we can’t wait to see.
In Disaster Movie, the filmmaking team behind the hits “Scary Movie,” “Date Movie,” “Epic Movie” and “Meet The Spartans” this time puts its unique, inimitable stamp on one of the biggest and most bloated movie genres of all time - the disaster film.
Disaster Movie follows the comic misadventures of a group of ridiculously attractive twenty-somethings during one fateful night as they try to make their way to safety while every known natural disaster and catastrophic event - asteroids, twisters, earthquakes, the works - hits the city and their path as they try to solve a series of mysteries to end the rampant destruction.
Taking aim at everything and everyone, from “Indiana Jones” and “Iron Man” to Amy Winehouse and High School Musical., DISASTER MOVIE lampoons the blockbuster movie, pop culture icons and public figures along the way as Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer satirize everything as only they can.
Disaster Movie stars the dynamic cast of Matt Lanter, Vanessa Minnillo, Kim Kardashian, G Thang, and Carmen Electra. Written, directed and produced by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer and produced by Peter Safran, DISASTER MOVIE will be released nationwide on August 29, 2008.
Cattle Call DVD
Imagine being a movie producer. You would have it all. Money, respect, women. More women. There is no better pick up line than “want to try out for my movie?” Trust me; I saw it in a movie once.
But what does it really take to start your own casting agency? In CATTLE CALL, presented by NATIONAL LAMPOON, three guys realize they only need some business cards and a fold out casting couch to start a fake agency recruiting the hottest women around.
Sherman and Glenn are looking for a leading lay, but Richie Ray is looking for true love. Just when they find the perfect girls for the roles, the truth comes out. Now these actresses don’t want the part, they want revenge. Hold on to your hearts and protect your private parts, this cattle call is gonna get rough.
Larry the Cable Guy is back and this time he’s a small town deputy who accidentally saves the life of a very important (and very hot) female witness. If you liked Larry in Delta Farce, this movie has five times as much of him.
The female witness is named Madelaine and played by Ivana Milicevic. She is the key witness in a corporate crime case in Chicago. When Larry first sets eyes on the classy lady from the city, he sees an opportunity to save the day. He thinks the FBI agents she with are kidnappers and in the end his blunder turns out to reveal them as hired hitmen.
Check out the trailer above - did I mention Jenny McCarthy is in the movie as well? Opening in theaters February 22nd!
Good Luck Chuck – Add it to your DVD collection JANUARY 15TH
Check out this sweet National Lampoon exclusive scene from the movie.
This movie stars a clumsy Jessica Alba, and a ladies’ good-luck-charm, Dane Cook. Charlie (Dane’s character) lives every man’s dream when women find out that if they sleep with him they will find their soul mate. He gets all the play, but none of the after sex snuggling!
The only problem is, Cam (Jessica’s Character), is the woman of his dreams so Chuck is scared of ruining it all by sleeping with her. And I understand his restraint, because Jessica Alba is the one woman we would all hold onto for as long as we could. Despite the lack of a skintight uniform in this movie, Jessica Alba is looking hotter and hotter. If this trend persists, she’ll have to play the Human Torch in the next Fantastic Four movie.
Sorry, I didn’t mean for this to turn into a Jessica Alba fantasy fest, but seriously, look at this picture!
P.S. I would happily grow old with Jessica Alba. We would sit on the porch in rocking chairs and listen to hardcore gangster rap, while the kids make fun of us because some type of Alien music is popular now. I would be like “Remember when you were in that movie Good Luck Chuck with Dane Cook,” but she wouldn’t remember because of her Alzheimer’s. And I would still love her, even though I hear it’s quite the debilitating disease.
